By applying the defines slope property to lines of a roof boundary you can create different roof types including flat roofs gable roofs and hip roofs.
One slope roof revit.
By default the whole roof will be sloped.
This create an uni directional slope parallel to the arrow.
In sketch mode select a roof boundary line that defines slope indicated by.
The following example shows a roof that you can create in revit lt using a slope arrow.
The tail is the low point and the head is the high point.
Of slope arrows must not lie in interior of slope defining lines message was driving me nuts when making a simple sloped roof shed roof.
I can only make this clearer if you sat right next to me had a look at our details and then discuss and try solutions to do this in revit.
If we had to do this by making one roof then we had to do a complicated dance with base line offsets and very short slope arrows.
Want a sloped structure or a sloped insulation in your flat roof.
To specify roof pitch select a slope defining boundary line click the numeric slope definition.
Check variable material in the roof structure to create sloped insulation.
Every time we think we got it right revit cannot make that roof.
You also need to adjust the roof height to match the other roof.
Creating complex roof in revit.
Creating a roof with different eave heights you can create a roof with slope defined lines at different.
In this sample i only use one.
Highlight one of the sketch lines and check the defines slope checkbox in the options bar.
Go back into your roof plan and draw another smaller roof this time the defines roof slope the little triangles is set on the left and right lines.
You can use slope arrows to create slopes on a roof.
On the properties palette select or clear defines roof slope.
8 set variable material for sloped insulation.
Set the pitch i m setting this at 40 degrees again and i am offsetting the pink lines by 200mm at the bottom and the sides only.
See hd version of video tutorial here.
To create a slope for an odd shaped roof like the one below use slope arrow.

Create a sloped roof in revit step 1 draw your roof step 2 define the slope.
You will see a slope symbol appear next to the sketch line.
Fisrt use slope defining lines rather than the slope arrow in this case.
The insulation thickness must be at least as thick as the vertical slope else you will receive a warning.
Draw the arrow then click it and change the properties to select the right levels and offsets.
